You shouldn’t have to work out what comes next by yourself.
I’m Tamika, a bereavement doula in Tulsa. I sit with families after miscarriage, stillbirth, a diagnosis that changed everything, and the death of a baby — in the hospital, at home, and in the weeks afterward when everyone else has gone back to work.
You can reach out before you know what to ask for.

Reach out if…
- The pregnancy ended early and everyone keeps telling you how common it is.
- You delivered a baby who had already died.
- You received a diagnosis and had to make a decision no one should have to make.
- Your baby was born, lived, and then died.
- You’re not sure whether your experience “counts.”
It counts.
What happens if you reach out
- 1
You call or text.
I answer, or I get back to you the same day.
- 2
We talk.
There is no charge for the first conversation and nothing you have to decide at the end of it.
- 3
You set the pace.
Tell me as much or as little as you want.
- 4
We figure out the next step.
If I’m the right person, we make a plan together. If I’m not, I’ll help you find who is.

Who you’d be calling
I’m Tamika Mapp, a bereavement doula and founder of Kindroot After Loss here in Tulsa. Kindroot After Loss was designed by a mom who understands how tender and disorienting loss can be.
After experiencing pregnancy loss and spending years advocating for families who are too often left to figure things out alone, I knew there had to be a gentler way to support parents in those first hours and in the weeks afterward.
This work comes from lived experience, doula care, and advocacy. It was created for the parent who is grieving, the loved one who wants to help but does not know what to say, and the provider who wants to send a family home with more than paperwork.

Help shape Kindroot After Loss
Kindroot is still being built, and lived experience should help shape what comes next. If you’ve experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR, neonatal loss, infant loss, or another pregnancy loss, you can explore the early Kindroot prototype and tell us what feels helpful, what is missing, and what you wish had been there for you.
What support can look like
In the hospital
Support through birth, the hours afterward, photographs and handprints, holding, and decisions nobody prepared you for.
At home
Support during the first weeks when visitors stop coming and the house becomes quiet.
The practical parts
Paperwork, arrangements, talking with other children, workplace communication, and navigating physical changes after loss.
Later
Due dates, anniversaries, grief that returns unexpectedly, and pregnancy after loss.
What this costs
It depends on your situation, and we’ll sort it out together.
Some families’ care may be covered through SoonerCare where eligible. Some pay on a sliding scale. Some receive care at no cost.
No family is turned away because of money, and you will never receive a surprise bill from me. Ask, and we’ll work it out.
